Mahindra Reva to launch full sized four-seater EV NXR next year
The country’s pioneer in Electric Vehicle (EV) technology Mahindra Reva has reportedly set up a new plant to manufacture its first full-sized four-seater electric car code named NXR, which is expected to be launched early next year.
According to a report in The Business Line, Mahindra Reva's chief of operations, R. Chandramouli that the new plant near Bangalore would initially be able to manufacture 15,000 units a year, which can be scaled up to 30,000 units. He said customers would be offered the choice of either lithium battery or lead acid battery for the car. According to the report, though the lithium battery will be costlier, it will offer higher speed as well mileage up to 100 km for every charge. The lead acid battery which also powers the existing two-seater Reva, is priced lower but can travel up to only 80 km per charge. The car's design is similar to models such as Maruti Estillo but is much taller than most other cars in the same category. The NXR model will have a steel frame with ABS body which is made of dent-resistant material.
The report also mentioned that the price of NXR will be higher but will be competitive, according to Chandramouli. The price of existing cars range from Rs 3.36 lakh to Rs 3.89 lakh (on road price in Bangalore). Reva sold about 600 cars in 2010 and is expected to sell about 100 more units this year. He was also quoted as saying that even for the existing cars Mahindra Reva plans to fit lithium batteries that have 40 per cent higher battery life. He added that because of the association with Mahindra, which last year acquired 55 per cent in Reva Electric Car Company, its finance arm, Mahindra Finance, now offers a buyback scheme for the customers. According to the scheme, Reva customers will have to make a down payment of Rs 1 lakh for owning the car and another Rs 9,000 a month for a period of three years. At the end of the three years, they can return the car to the company and will get back Rs 1 lakh. He said that as part of the green initiative, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh have waived VAT on Reva cars and wanted more states to do likewise.

Bonding with the past
Whoever said that ex-lovers can’t be friends haven’t seen Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone recently. It seems that the ex-couple have finally buried the hatchet and are trying their best to be cordial with each other. The two met at Imran Khan’s film screening and were seen to be greeting each other affectionately.
Ranbir had expressed his desire to watch ‘Delhi Belly’ and Imran invited him to the trial screening. Also present there were Imran and Avantika’s close friends and Deepika Padukone who has become good friends with her ‘Break ke Baad’ co-star. “There was no discomfort between the Ranbir and Deepika and both were very warm towards each other. Ranbir even sat next to Deepika and watched the film,” said a source.
The two started dating each other in 2008 and broke off after two years of courtship. The reasons for the break-up have been speculated to be a certain Ms Kaif and it was rumoured that Ranbir had cheated on Deepika. Infact, in one of the shows of ‘Coffee with Karan’, Deepika left no stone unturned to lash out at her ex-boyfriend and Katrina Kaif. Now things are back to normal as both of them have moved on. While Deepika is dating liquor baron Vijay Mallya’s son, Siddhartha, Ranbir has been linked to lots of women in the recent times.

IN REPLY TO ALL SARDAR JOKES
My friend told me about the following incident which I wish to share with you.
During last vacation, his few friends came to Delhi. They rented a taxi for local sight-seeing. The driver was an old Sardar and boys being boys, these pals began cracking Sardarji jokes, just to tease the old man.
But to their surprise, the fellow remained unperturbed.
At the end of the sight-seeing, they paid the cab hire-charges. The Sardar returned the change, but he gave each one of them one rupee extra and said,
''Son, since morning you have been telling Sardarji jokes. I listened to them all and let me tell you, some of them were in bad taste. Still, I don't mind coz I know that you are young blood and are yet to see the world.. But I have one request. I am giving you one rupee each. Give it to the first Sardar beggar that you come across in this or any other city.'
My friend continued,* ' That one rupee coin is still with me. I couldn't find a single Sardar begging anywhere.'
MORAL:
The secret behind their universal success, is their willingness to do any job with utmost dedication and pride. A Sardar will drive a truck or set up a roadside garage or a dhaba, put a fruit juice stall, take up small time carpentry, ... but he will never beg on the streets.

Love & Sex Men and women are from the same planet
Men want sex & women want love. Women chat more while men like to brood. So how do these creatures from Mars and Venus overcome their differences, to become Earthlings. Experts and some new studies tell us how…
MEN are from Mars and women are from Venus but the twain shall always meet. They meet on Earth of course.
It’s another thing that there’s a lot of struggle that preludes this much-anticipated meeting — there are bottlenecks, traffic jams and speed breakers in this journey. And the main culprit seems to be the ‘wiring’ of their brains.
A recent Swedish research for instance says that women are moodier than men and are prone to depression –
Miffed Aishwarya To Sue Madhur; Priyanka To Greenlight 'Heroine'?
One Heroine is supremely miffed. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, that is. Amid speculation that UTV, Siddharth Roy Kapur and director Madhur Bhandarkar will face losses to the tune of Rs. 6 crore if Heroine is shelved, arrives the news that Aishwarya has been rather stunned with the "demands" that Madhur has come up with. Word has it that in addition to the smoking and waterfall drenched sequences, Madhur now insists that she perform "two item numbers" too for his flick.
Did Katrina's Agree's Hrithik for Deep Smooch!
Their lips are sealed… in a tight liplock, that is. One that is reminiscent of what Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori shared intimately in the low flying Kites. Word has it that Roshan Junior has managed the feat once again. And, nope, it's not Mori who's the recipient of the lip smacking attention (hah, albeit differently, eh?)… it's Katrina Kaif.
Hot yoga celebs
It's proven that yoga helps one to stay fit and also enhance beauty. It's a small wonder then that stars embrace yoga with open arms. After Shilpa Shetty,Bipasha Basu and Lara Dutta, we have another Bollywood babe turning into a yoga instructor. If sources are to be believed then hottie Mallika Sherawat is planning to release a fitness DVD in the US soon.
