Don't ignore your skin

Anuradha CH, director of Anoo’s Beauty Salon and Clinic, gives some tips on skin care:

For a healthy diet, eat salads blanched in boiling water, vegetable soups and drink 10 glasses of water every day.

Include milk, milk products, nuts and soya products in your diet.

Use water-proof sunscreen during the day. Also, use a good soap-free cleanser for the face and exfoliate with a facial scrub, about twice a week, to remove dead cells.

Massage your face, hands and feet, with a nourishing cream every night before going to bed.

During the day, use a light lotion-based moisturiser or serum, which will hydrate your skin and brighten it up. Avoid using oily moisturisers during monsoons, as they mix with the rain water and feel sticky.

Scrub the exposed areas of body with a gentle scrub once a day to remove dust.

Avoid heavy makeup and use waterproof make up when necessary.

Soak your feet in a tub of warm water and gently massage them for a few minutes before washing them.

Try a pedicure every fortnight. This will help your feet bounce back in action.

Choose comfortable footwear during monsoon. Wash your feet and hands well and dry them properly whenever they get wet due to rains.
